Satan Jokers were another of those semi-obscure 80's French bands who came and went without much fanfare. The debut, Les Fils Du Metal, was quite good, one of the best French albums of the era, but they wandered into pop territory on the followup and eventually disappeared after a third release. Drummer Renaud Hantson pursued a successful pop solo career for several years after the demise of the band.
In the fall of 2008 drummer (and now vocalist) Hantson decided to put together a new version of the band, in part in tribute to departed bassist Laurent Bernant. A new album is scheduled for a 2009 release.
